WellPad: Alberta LSD Lookup
Developer: Southpaw Digital Labs Inc.
Effective Date: January 7, 2026
Last Updated: October 1, 2026
WellPad: Alberta LSD Lookup ("WellPad", "the App") is developed and operated by Southpaw Digital Labs Inc. ("Company", "we", "us"). WellPad is designed with privacy as a core principle. This privacy policy explains what information the App uses, what leaves your device, and why.
WellPad does not collect:
We have no servers that receive your personal data.
The following data is stored only on your device:
| Data Type | Purpose | Your Control |
|---|---|---|
| Favorites | Quick access to frequently used parcels | Delete anytime |
| History | Recent lookups (max 50). GPS lookups store the location where you searched | Clear in Settings |
| Notes & photos | Your field notes and photos for each parcel | Delete anytime |
| Corrections | GPS coordinates you saved for a wellhead | Delete anytime |
| Settings | Preferences, free-tier lookup count, trial and Pro status | Uninstall to remove |
| Crash reports (iPhone) | Diagnostic reports Apple hands the app after a crash (newest 10) | Delete in Settings, or uninstall |
On iPhone, the date your free trial started is also kept in the iOS Keychain on your device, so reinstalling the app doesn't restart the trial. It contains only that date, is never sent anywhere, and is removed if you erase your iPhone.
You own this data. You can export a full backup including photos (Settings → Share Backup), delete favorites, history, notes, photos and corrections (Settings → Clear All Data), or uninstall the app to remove everything.
If you have Android backup turned on, Android may back up your favorites, history, notes, corrections and settings to your own Google account, and copy them (with photos) when you transfer to a new phone. This is handled by Android and Google, not by us, and you can turn it off in your phone's settings. We cannot access these backups.
If you use iCloud Backup or back up your iPhone to a computer, your favorites, history, notes, photos, corrections and settings are included in your own backup, so they come back when you restore or move to a new iPhone. The large well and parcel databases are not backed up, since they come with the app. This is handled by Apple, not by us, and you can turn it off in your iPhone's settings. We cannot access these backups.
WellPad asks for location permission for two features:
Your GPS position is used on your device and stored only locally (in History and Corrections). WellPad does not send your GPS position to us or anyone else. You can deny location permission and still use every other feature.
Purchases of WellPad Pro are processed entirely by Google Play. The app asks Google Play which purchases your signed-in Google account owns, to unlock Pro. We never see your payment details. Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Purchases of WellPad Pro on iPhone are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. The app asks the App Store which purchases your Apple Account owns, to unlock Pro. We never see your payment details or your Apple Account. Privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
What is sent when the app crashes: the crash stack trace, device model, manufacturer and Android version, app version, and a random installation identifier created by Crashlytics to count crashes. It is not linked to your name, email, or Google account.
What is NOT sent: your location, lookups, favorites, history, notes, photos, or anything you type.

The iPhone app uses no crash-reporting service. After a crash, iOS gives the app a diagnostic report (the crash details, device model, iOS version and app version). WellPad keeps the newest 10 on your device and tells you once; the report is only sent if you choose to share it, for example by email.
Separately, if you turned on Share with App Developers in your iPhone's Analytics settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash and performance statistics. This is controlled by Apple and you can turn it off in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
When you tap "Navigate" or "Share", WellPad hands the parcel's coordinates to the map or sharing app you choose (on iPhone, Google Maps or Apple Maps). Those apps have their own privacy policies.
WellPad does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is designed for professional field workers and does not target children.
We may update this privacy policy occasionally. Changes will be noted with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
